"Without promotion, something terrible happens... Nothing!"
- P.T. Barnum
The total readership of each issue of Columbia Home & Garden magazine is estimated
to be in excess of 35,000, based on the accepted national average readership pass-
closer to 5.0, because our heavier covers and durable inside pages increase the shelf
life, providing a longer opportunity for each copy to be enjoyed by multiple readers.
Much of our distribution is made up of individually-mailed copies to current subscribers
and potential subscribers. Our current subscriber list continues to grow daily from
magazine inserts, subscriber ads in the magazine, e-mail marketing, website presence,
mailed sample copies of the magazine, and other direct mail.
Our potential subscriber list, also called controlled distribution, consists of VIP’s,
selected neighborhoods, businesses, potential advertisers, real estate offices and
agents, builders, lawyers/accountants/doctors offices, and other professional offices.
Shelf life of each issue is estimated to be in excess of six months: you can expect to run
across previous issues alongside the current issue of Columbia Home & Garden in
many professional offices.
Other distribution includes room copies for upscale hotels, Columbia and USC Visitors
Centers, Columbia Metropolitan Airport information desk, events, trade shows,
REALTOR relocation packets, and newsstand/retail sales. Copies of the Spring issue
were distributed at the Carolina Classic Home & Garden Show, the Spring Flower
Festival, and the City Center Partnership Spring Market. Copies of the Summer issuer
were distributed at Viva la Vista and the City Center Partnership Fall Market.
Current newsstand/retail copies are available at Columbia Downtown Marriott Gift Shop,
Bank of America Plaza Sundry, St. Andrews Newsstand, and Kitty's Hallmark stores in
Forest Acres, Sandhills, Lexington, West Columbia, Bush River Rd., and St. Andrews
Rd.
For added value and extra distribution, the digital version of each issue is available
online indefinitely at www.columbiaHG.com or www.columbiahomeandgarden.com and
on Facebook. Each advertiser’s website link is placed on our websites. Or consumers
may click on www.columbia4sale.com to go directly to the Advertiser List and links.
For even more added value, each advertiser is listed in the Advertiser Index of the
magazine, both slick-paper and digital versions.
